You are probably familiar with some uses of online lead generation, such as:
- list building
- e-mail newsletter marketing

However, did you know that online lead generation has fast become the preferred recruiting method of network marketers looking to build their downlines? Believe it or not, it looks like the days of cold-calling and other “hard-sell” tactics are over.
Come to think of it, the Internet has made soliciting your “warm” market and blindly following your upline’s advice redundant. You possess the same recruiting power as all the entrepreneurs out there, although using it properly does require some knowledge.
So, before you fork out five or ten-thousand bucks for some smart-ass consultant (who probably never made any money in an MLM), take note of how to incorporate three (3) simple but powerful lead generation tools to supercharge your online MLM growth:
1. Set up Your Own Lead Capture (i.e. Opt-in) Page.
Chances are that your MLM company has set up a replicated webpage/website for your use. Sounds great, but the problem is that any leads that sign up on those pages will belong to the company, not you. Instead, take a couple of hours to learn how to put up your own opt-in page. The benefits are several-fold:
- Your leads are actually YOUR leads; if the company reneges on its commitments, you do not have to rebuild your list from scratch.
- You have an autoresponder that demonstrates your niche expertise, and helps you create the “Me. Inc.” brand so critical in MLM attraction marketing.

2. Drive Traffic to your Lead Capture Page.
Traffic generation and lead generation go hand-in-hand, and the best thing about it is that many popular, effective tactics are “free” or almost free. Individuals usually have 1-2 traffic preferences, and MLM newcomers especially should take the time to learn one tactic well before moving onto something else. Article marketing, pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, and forum marketing are some options to consider for bringing targeted traffic to your opt-in.
3. Create Winning Copy that Generates Leads.
Along with traffic conversion, copywriting is the most sought after skill in Internet Marketing, and with good reason. From a network marketing perspective, why have thousands of people show up at your door (i.e. lead capture page), only to be tuned out by a boring or irrelevant message?
Knowing who you want to target is crucial in this respect. Your header, bullet points, and call to action must all address your prospects needs and wants. Traffic (lead) conversion should neatly follow your page creation and traffic generation efforts.
Lead capture pages, traffic generation, lead generation via sales copy (traffic conversion). That’s what it’s all about these days in MLM.
